Yeah get started soon. We should check out the progress of the building of that Thompson park in New Brighton, its been done up but I'm not sure if its done or not yet. I'll try find out. It will give us something new to shoot. Yeah i dug a bit on Saturday and will likely get up for some more this weekend. I'm pretty hooked on digging at the moment!

dont think bottle lakes gunna be a goer for filming anymnore. Kids are gay, no one listens and jumps get f*cked! unless i get a deece trick jump going just for some one off jump bangers
Hows it going anyway Toby? this cold is so gay!
maybe if we talk to Pete nicely he'll let us be 1st to use Pop 'n' Fresh for an edit. that would be perfect for something new, its looking great at the moment.

haha, your vids never get old. 'Going out to ride, be back soon... oh, wait 2 seconds - *click* Jimmy Wilson Promo *click*' gets me pumped every time i watch it, its my pre-ride ritual now!

looks smart but hard to carry to trails, espesh if riding! I was thinking you use a handle type thing like you see on top of prosumer level camera's with the external mic/accessory shoe at the front, probably like the one on yours if you have the camera I think you do! do you know if that type of set-up works well? It just seems to make more sense in an active environment if I need to move the camera quickly, or of course if im riding to the shooting spot and dont want to be lugging giant lengths of pipe around!

New video looks sweet as always
how did you build your steadycam rig thing that you use? It makes sooo much more sense than lugging a tripod up the trails

doesnt look like we'll get any dirt done till spring haha. maybe some park stuff if the weather dries out. by the time we can film dirt though Bowenvale should be all done and fresh for a good start on different stuff to film. im not too worried about making it a super fancy edit tho. just something cool with some gnarly riding

shots at 0:18, 0:48 and 0:51 are gna get a re shoot, also maybe the shot at 0:16 might be taken from behind tracking slowly right and quickly zoom into the shot at 0:18

yh i f*cked up the aspect on the render and couldnt be arsed re doing it as its not the finalized version anyway. theres just one or two - mainly the still shot about a quater of th way through with the tree just after the flowy bit where the camera quickly zooms into the dusty(ish) berm, 2 shots before the slow motion shot with the mud and mossy rocks where the camera slowly zooms in. gna put together a few nature-ish intro clips for the first 30secs of music i cut, possibly with mike narrating over the top to introduce the segment and talk about building the trails and the inverness scene etc. should look good when its done tho!

haha lucky you! ok, heres the final 4min edit: http://www.vimeo.com/4601620 but I shall be re shooting some of the earlier clips as the later clips are a lot more professional looking. part of the problem is that the trail just isnt very photogenic! the jumps at the end look amazing through the lens though so its all good

i need to find a 2.30 tune with an intro, so i can introduce the rider, then have like just under 2 mins of nice intense action. got some new tapes in the camcorder, and the next 2 weeks off school, so i'll probably go and shoot like crazy then really cut it down to only the amazing shots. im thinking the final thing is gna be quite a bit different. ive only just learnt what the aperture setting really does (noob)! so the video should start to get sharper from now in too! only problem i can now see is that my battery only lasts 40mins, and theres no way i can afford another!

Hey man, I re-shot pretty much the whole first bit of the vid without fisheye - and concentrated on using zoom for pace and interest (Reflex Films: Anti Gravity type style
). I also toned down the saturation and contrast slightly and gave it a nice lick of megadeth for a fun shred feel
http://www.vimeo.com/3397902 Take a look and tell me what you think!? Pointers are always welcomed!

aye thanks for the pointers! when you say 'close-ups' what exactly do you mean? and yeh, the fisheye i just use to create space as its hard filming in closed woods as im sure you'll understand yourself! I was going to try more shots like the one of mike coming into the big jump, where i set the camera up quite far back and work with the zoom for flow and keep the shots nice and long. that whole first bit up to the whip on the little double was just grab shots, so its a bit snappy and the shots dont really flow into each other =\ hence why im re-shooting! Thanks for the input anyway! Its great to hear from someone else who knows what theyre doing, instead of kids who just want to see backflips all the time!

Haha thanks man! I love the raw feel of Sketchy Lines, and I had the same idea with the flickbook sketches a while back! Im on a pretty steep learning curve with my vids atm! Im working on a feature length production (much like Sketchy Lines) over the coming months! you should check out what ive done with mikey's segment so far (http://www.vimeo.com/3397902) and tell me, as a videographer yourself, what you think? I was going to re-cut to a different tune and re-shoot some of the earlier clips, espesh the cablecam as that was a VERY sketchy prototype No.1.
Cheers man!
