The film will feature full rider sections from Sean Kennedy, Kelly McGarry, Amy Liard, Cameron Cole, and Eddy Parker; a jump jam and an indoor warehouse jam. It was filmed all over New Zealand, from Wellington to Wanaka. We follow Cameron and Amy around the New Zealand DH cup and show their training; we show the big hits and smooth jumping of Kelly and Eddy; and go trekking with Sean to freeride in the rugged southern alps. The teaser and trailer below will give you an Idea of what we are all about.
The idea of Sketchy Lines was to showcase New Zealand, both its environment and its talented riders. One of the things that set this movie apart from other MTB movies is that it features hand drawn animation and stop motion. Also having all local riders and music it brings a unique homegrown feel to the video. We even built our own helmet camera and zip line with help from Willie Moore.
This is our first film and hopefully there are plenty more to come. It was created by us without any sponsorship (excluding some prizes for the jams) and we want your opinion! let us know what you think of the film.
